Blind Pilot Returns with Folk-Inspired Opener ‘Jacaranda’ from Upcoming Album

Blind Pilot has unveiled “Jacaranda,” the lead track from their first album in eight years, In The Shadow Of The Holy Mountain, set for release on August 16 via ATO Records. This song marks a significant return for the American indie-folk band, blending rich, folky vibes with an intricate arrangement.

The track opens with strummed guitar chords and layered vocals, establishing a warm, inviting atmosphere. The gentle percussion helps to drive the song forward, while the chorus brings a burst of brightness and focus, elevating the track’s overall dynamic.

“Jacaranda” reflects a period of renewal for Blind Pilot’s frontman, Israel Nebeker. Inspired by a trip to Mexico City and the vibrant jacaranda trees there, the song serves as a tribute to Nebeker’s collaboration with co-founder Ryan Dobrowski. The track encapsulates a sense of gratitude and creative rebirth, marking a fresh chapter for the band.

Produced by Josh Kaufman, In The Shadow Of The Holy Mountain is a product of Blind Pilot’s deepened live performance chemistry and Nebeker’s renewed songwriting energy. The album represents a substantial evolution from their previous work, incorporating a broader range of influences and instrumentation while retaining the band’s signature folk sensibility.
