Cave Flowers have released their latest single, “Garbage and Gold,” the first track from their upcoming second album, Western Spectre (out December 6th). The song opens with energetic guitar licks and piano, quickly supported by bass and drums, setting a laid-back country rock groove. The relaxed, yet rock-infused vocals are reinforced by rich backing harmonies, giving the track a warm and easygoing vibe.
Led by ex-Seattle musician Andy McAllister, Cave Flowers blends Americana and outlaw country with a raw, live-recorded sound. Recorded at the Heritage Recording Company with Chris Rondinella, the band tracked 10 songs live in just two days. “Garbage and Gold” perfectly captures the free-spirited, ramshackle energy of Los Angeles living, reflecting the band’s seamless fusion of Waylon Jennings’ country flair and the rock essence of Creedence Clearwater Revival.
