Following the success of his 2021 album Son Of Nyx, Rogeon continues to evolve musically. “Ascend It” is part of a teaser for his forthcoming album Wave Theory, which takes the sound concepts of Son Of Nyx and pushes them even further. The track channels the deep funk of Herbie Hancock’s late 70s work, but adds a contemporary twist, especially with its Miles-Davis-esque violin solo and bursts of pentatonic riffs that propel the song forward.
