Morgan Jennings Debuts Reflective Solo Track “My Only Friend”

Portsmouth-based musician Morgan Jennings steps out as a solo artist with his debut track “My Only Friend,” a song rooted in introspection and emotional fatigue.

Opening with a delicate acoustic guitar, the track gradually unfolds to reveal subtle electric elements and blues-inspired tones. Jennings’ vocal delivery is mournful and restrained, underpinned by gentle organ textures that add depth and weight to the arrangement. The result is a stripped-back, atmospheric sound that balances simplicity with emotional resonance.

“My Only Friend” was written during a period of personal frustration. Jennings explains, “I thought that everyone was relying on me to help them out but never offering guidance in other ways. Which circumstantially wasn’t true, but I was fed up of repeating the same things and hoping that they would bother somebody else.”

After three years performing live across the UK as a session musician, Jennings has shifted focus to his own material. With this release, he introduces a reflective and grounded songwriting style that signals the beginning of a new chapter in his musical journey.
