DIY-recorded at home, it showcases the trio’s grounded, intimate approach to music-making.
Founded in 2018, Também is comprised of Ingrid Knight (piano/vocals), Gastón Reggio (drums), and Andy Powell (bass). Their eclectic sound combines elements of jazz, Brazilian music, and poetic lyricism, creating a distinctive blend of groove-driven, improvisational compositions. The trio’s deep musical connection is evident in their organic and evolving sound, influenced by Herbie Hancock, Rumi, and Brazilian composer Hermeto Pascoal.
With two studio albums under their belt—Esmeralda (2022) and Echo (2023)—the band has performed at notable venues across the Southeast, including the Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival and the Koka Booth Amphitheater Jazz Series. Their music reflects a deep respect for both Brazilian and American traditions, continuously exploring new sonic landscapes as they prepare for more releases in 2024.
